Take a day long safari in the stunning Udawalawe National Park which is regarded as one of the wildlife sanctuaries in Sri Lanka. It is an 8 hour tour aimed at people who would like to explore the park in its finest form, experiencing the transforming landscapes, observing wildlife in the morning till the end of the afternoon. Included with breakfast and lunch, you’ll be able to devote all your time to adventure as we ensure your comfort.
Your safari commences in the early morning, when the park is opening down and the animals are at work best. Travelling in a jeep with skilled local guide, you will get a chance to see the well-known Asian elephants of Sri Lanka, water buffalo, spotted deer, crocodiles, jackals and a great number of interesting bird species. In the morning, especially, the sun and soft golden light provide a perfect picture to be photographed in and a natural beauty to the park.
Following the morning drive you will take a time to have a freshly cooked breakfast and then a delicous lunch to rest and refresh up before proceeding with the adventure. The afternoon drive is also a different story because animals are drawn to watering holes by the heat of the day. It is also the most appropriate time to witness the elephant bathing and playing in herds, crocodiles lying on the banks, and birds of all colors flying by the air.
Going on a full-day safari is not merely an activity of wildlife watching but an experience that will enable one to actually communicate with nature. The longer stay allows you to enjoy the variety of habitats of the park, open grasslands and rich forests each having their own rhythm. It is the whole Udawalawe experience whether you are a photographer taking unforgettable track of shots, a birdwatcher as you add species to your list or just a traveler in search of an adventure.
You are going to walk out of the park at sunset with some pleasant memories of the wilderness of Sri Lanka and the freedom of spending a day in nature.
Begin your full-day adventure at 5:30 AM or 10:00 AM, depending on your preferred schedule. You’ll ride in a private 4×4 jeep with a skilled local guide who will lead you through Udawalawe’s diverse landscapes—from grasslands and lakes to forest patches teeming with wildlife.
The tour includes multiple game drive sessions, allowing you to witness animal activity during both morning and afternoon hours. Take breaks to relax, enjoy bottled water and light snacks, and soak in the natural beauty around you. The journey ends around 2:00 PM or 6:00 PM, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s wild side.
